Changes to COR Auditing

There's big changes to health and safety audits in Alberta because of COVID-19. In 2020 Certificate of Recognition (COR) audits will be document only; other methods of information gathering - interviews and observations, are not a part of this year's audits. There are also other big changes including scoring, and maintenance audits are awarded a one year COR instead of the usual three year. Contact your Certifying Partner for specifics.

For 2021, COR audits will similarly not include interview or observation data collection activities i.e. document-only. However, if the employer and auditor agree that these processes can be conducted safely in person then they may proceed. Of course, all public health directives must be followed. Interviews can be conducted remotely by phone or internet.
